What are the Noteworthy Characteristics?

  • Highlight your most meaningful accomplishments or activities during medical school​​

  • "Elevator Pitch": describe themes and important experiences during medical school​​

  • Think about professional narratives- your noteworthies should reflect your skills as one or more of those.​​

  • Example Narratives: clinician, clinician advocate, physician scientist, clinician educator, physician innovator, physician engineer, physician entrepreneur, clinician with expertise in policy, clinician with expertise in public health, etc.​

Grammar/Structure​

  • 3 bullet points ​

  • 4 if you had a significant challenge or hardship​

  • 2-3 sentences per bullet (≤ 65 words)​

  • third person​

  • past tense​

  • Use descriptors like “champion for” or “excelled at” or “dedicated to” etc.​

  • Spell out acronyms and abbreviations
