# Work Schedule/Duty Hours

## <mark style="color:blue;">General Clinical Schedule at MSH (SAMPLE)</mark>

* Labor Floor Week Days: approximately 6:30/7 am – 6:30/7 pm
* Benign Gyn OR or Gyn Onc Week Days: approximately 6:30 am – 6:30 pm
* Night float shifts during Labor Floor Nights: approximately 6:30/7:00 pm – 6:30/7:00 am
* 1:1 Faculty to Student Experience – Schedule dependent on faculty’s schedule

Note that the Labor Floor Night Float Shifts are scheduled in accordance with duty hours. Students do not work clinically in the mornings or in the afternoons before a night float shift. Students are excused from attending didactics after a Night Float Shift the next day but must attend in-person morning simulation sessions as assigned. Overnight shifts are only 12 hours in duration and often less depending on clinical activity.

## <mark style="color:blue;">Orientation Day Reporting</mark>

General Clerkship Orientation will generally be held during the Friday of CAMP. Site-specific orientation will be determined by site directors and communicated to students. Students can expect to meet their teams and begin caring for hospitalized patients the day after Orientation Day.

* 7 am – 12 pm: Information, lectures, and simulation given at MSH
* 1 pm – 5pm: Information and tour given at assigned sites
