Ensuring completion of the Required Clinical Experiences is a joint responsibility of the student and the clerkship director(s). Students are responsible to complete each RCE *and* log completion on One45. Clerkship directors are responsible to review One45 logs and provide advice and guidance to students regarding how to complete any missing RCEs. In the event that a student is not able to complete an RCE, the student must complete the associated Alternate Learning Experience (ALE). The ALEs associated with each RCE are [found here](https://ismms-md-program.gitbook.io/medinfoapp/~/changes/236/clerkship-resources/logging-required-clinical-experiences/alternate-learning-experience-ale) and may include online modules, readings, video recordings, and/or in-person instruction. Students MUST have logged all RCEs in One45 by the day of the clerkship’s shelf exam in order to pass the clerkship. Abdominal Pain	obtain the patient history conduct a physical exam present the case including a discussion of differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan
Anemia	interpret pertinent patient data
Fever (Pediatric)	obtain the patient history conduct a physical exam present the case including a discussion of differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan
Neonatal Jaundice	obtain the patient history interpret pertinent patient data present the case including a discussion of differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan
Pediatric Ear Exam Pathology	conduct an ear exam of a child <10 years and identify any of the following pathologies: acute otitis media, serous otitis media, otitis externa
Rash	obtain the patient history conduct a physical exam present the case including a discussion of differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan
Respiratory Illness (Croup, Bronchiolitis, Pneumonia, or Asthma)	obtain the patient history conduct a physical exam present the case including a discussion of differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan
Assess dehydration status in a child ≤ 12 years old	obtain the patient history conduct a physical exam present the case including a discussion of differential diagnosis, assessment, and plan
Assess Growth/Developmental Milestones	assess growth using a growth chart and assess developmental milestones for a child ≤5 years
Conduct a HEADSSS/SSHADESS Interview	obtain a social history for an adolescent
Assess Immunization Status	assess the immunization status/need of a child of any age
Assess Nutritional Needs	review a growth chart and assess breastfeeding or formula nutritional needs in a newborn or infant < 1 year old
