Note: The clerkship grading committee will review any student who does not achieve Honors and at its discretion may modify scores upward if there is evidence of inaccurate data, bias and/or outliers.

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills Rubric (Direct Observation: Physical Exam):
Shows consideration for patient comfort during the physical examination
Full = Actively inquires about patient’s discomfort. Notices discomfort & adequately addresses it. Warns patient when is about to do PE item that might create physical or emotional discomfort & apologizes if discomfort is considerable.
Partial = During the exam, there were times when I expressed considerable pain, and you noticed it but did not apologize for performing the maneuver that way.
No = The faculty was hoping you would show consideration for my comfort during the physical exam.
