  • An overview of the module, outlining its objectives, structure, and the resources available to help you acclimate to medical school.

  1. Student Support Services and Resources: Office of Student Affairs and Office for Diversity and Inclusion

  • Learn about the various services and support systems provided by the Office of Student Affairs and Office for Diversity and Inclusion, including academic support, counseling, and extracurricular activities.

  1. Career and Professional Development - CaPD Advisor Session

  • Meet with Career and Professional Development advisors to explore career options, receive guidance, and begin planning your professional journey in medicine.

  1. Learning Environment Tour

  • Tour the learning environment, including classrooms and study spaces, followed by a social event to further build connections with classmates.

  1. Office of Curricular Affairs Overview

  • An introductory session detailing the role of the Office of Curricular Affairs, including curriculum design, academic policies, educational support, and an introduction to the Clinical Competency Mentorship (CCM) Program and the Clinical Apprenticeship Experience (APEX) Program.

  1. Well-Being Program - We Get By With a Little Help From Our PEERS

  • The first session in the PEERS program focused on promoting well-being and resilience through peer support and interactive activities.

  1. Academic Policies: IX Intro and Nuts and Bolts

  • Essential information on academic policies and procedures, including how to access academic support services, strategies for success, and available resources.

  1. Academic Counseling - High Yield Learning Strategies

  • Discover effective learning strategies to maximize your academic performance, tailored to the medical school curriculum.

  1. Community Building: Welcome Class of 2029 Social

  • Engage in activities and social event with Office of Diversity and Inclusion

  1. Well-Being Programming: Staying Safe: A Conversation About Your Health, Substance Use, Harm Reduction and Overdose Prevention

  • Engage in an essential conversation focused on maintaining your health through understanding substance use, harm reduction, and overdose prevention strategies.

  1. Scholarship and Research

  • Explore opportunities for scholarships and research, learning how to get involved in scholarly activities and secure funding for your projects.

  1. Social Event with Class of 2028

  • A social event designed to connect with the class of 2027, fostering inter-class relationships and a sense of continuity within the student body.

  1. Personal Stories, Shared, Journeys: Celebrating Differences in Building

  • Engage in activities and discussions focused on exploring and understanding personal and social identities, enhancing self-awareness and community inclusiveness.

  1. Financial Advising - Money Management for Medical Students

  1. White Coat Fitting/Headshots:

  • Students will be fitted for their white coats and have their headshots taken.

  1. AIT Open Office Hours:

  • Opportunity for students to meet with the Academic and Information Technology (AIT) office to address any technical needs or questions.

  1. Financial Services Open Office Hours:

  • An opportunity to meet with representatives from the Office of Financial Services to discuss financial aid options, budgeting strategies, and other financial resources available to support your medical education.
