Clerkship Absence Make-Up Procedures

All absences from required activities must be made-up. The table below provides the available option(s) to make-up absences from each component of this clerkship. If the required make-up cannot be completed during the clerkship, a student may be required to 1) complete make-up experiences during elective time or 2) reschedule the clerkship to another time.

This can include make-up of a full week during elective or transitions block
C&L	1 Virtual/online ADMSEP module	1 Floor or Psych ED call OR 2 Virtual/online ADMSEP modules	2 Floor or Psych ED calls, 2 weekend days OR 2 days during elective or transitions block	An individualized make-up plan will be designed by the clerkship leadership and approved by the CCS. This can include make-up of a full week during elective or transitions block
Psych ED/CPEP	1 Virtual/online ADMSEP module	1 Floor or Psych ED call OR 2 Virtual/online ADMSEP modules	2 Floor or Psych ED calls, 2 weekend days OR 2 days during elective or transitions block	An individualized make-up plan will be designed by the clerkship leadership and approved by the CCS. Team Based Learning Didactic Session	Attend the TBL session in the next block	NA	NA	NA

Short absences (Absences of 1-2 hours in duration): Students should first attempt to prioritize flextime for meetings and appointments. If an absence from a clerkship activity is required, students must request the absence via Year 3 and Year 4 Absence Request form. Make-up for a single short absence is not required. Make up for multiple absences totaling 8 hours will be equivalent to one full absence day and make-up will be guided by the table above.
